Dr Lesley Stafford BA(Hons) MA(Psych) MPsych(Clin) PhD
is the Head of Clinical Psychology at the Royal Women’s Hospital. Her role at the Women’s has included establishing both a clinical psycho-oncology service and a formal psycho-oncology research program. Dr Stafford initially studied in South Africa before completing further clinical training and a PhD at the University of Melbourne, where she is a Senior Lecturer. Her research interests are in the psychological aspects of cancer, specifically, developing sustainable interventions to optimize the quality of life of those affected by cancer. Her clinical work is predominantly with women with breast cancer and those at high risk of developing cancer.
